Making his Logica debut against Parsons Green, Andy Devitt turned in an impressive display of honest toil both on and off the field. Having significantly contributed to Logica turning a 0-1 interval deficit into an impressive 3-1 win courtesy of an assist and a goal, the half-time substitute had more than earned a sizable share of the electorate's votes in last week's MoM ballot. But just as it seemed he had gained a significant majority, Devitt felt duty bound to own up to a couple of votes being cast by inelligible members of the Knowledgeable Footballing Public.

Such honesty is very creditable, especially as the adjusted results have allowed another candidate to slide in and nick the award off his toe. Manlio Trovato is the deserving beneficiary of this gallantry, with another quality performance at the back for Logica. The Italian libero was been doing the business consistently this season, so much so that he has been there or thereabouts in most of the MoM polls conducted. Now finally he was won the Award for the first time this campaign, and it will probably be even more satifying for Trovato to earn the nod from his peers after gaining three valuable points.
