An excellent result against title favourites Supercala, and after an uncertain start to the match, Logica grew in confidence and stature as they were ultimately good value for their hard-earned point. The defence was superb, particularly in the second half when they dealt increasingly comfortably with anything Cala could throw at them. Pete Chapman was outstanding once again, seemingly everywhere as he intercepted, tackled and headed Logica to safety. And as if that was not enough, he also found time to rifle home from 25 yards to give Logica the lead in the first half. Even in his first season with the club, Chapman may soon need to invest in some mantlepiece extensions, as with half the votes polled, the defender claimed his third Man of the Match Award in just four appearances!

Chapman was ably supported by those beside and behind him. Stand-in keeper Manlio Trovato once again demonstrated that the gloves fit, with a fine array of saves and cross-catching. His impeccable handling served to inspire those in front of him, and the electorate, a fifth of whom voted for the Italian. Elsewhere fellow defenders Hatton Major and Hatton Minor got honourable mentions in dispatches along with ageing attacker Mark Abbott.
