A disjointed performance, but at least Logica dug deep in the second half against the division's bottom club to raise their game sufficiently to bag a vital, if unconvincing, three points. Logica's defensive application was much better after the interval, enabling the visitors to control the game and create a few chances. But it was a solitary moment of sublime skill from Abbott that ultimately proved the difference between the two sides, and enough to bag the player this week's MoM.
Having already banged home a first half penno, it was the experienced forward who restored Logica's lead on the hour with a lob amongst lobs, a brilliant example of the genre even from a player who has built an entire and overly long career out of lobbing. Fazel, Hatton Minor, Melville, and Rob Sapwell also received nods from the electorate for their unstinting efforts to protect this lead.
