It was a superb all-round team effort but one man put in an outstanding all-round performance of his own. Nigel Hoyland played a captain's innings, and it was not just the two superb finishes that claimed the two goals to win the game. His running off the ball was unselfish as he always tried to provide an option, and he worked the channels, darting hither and thither, and generally causing mayhem amongst a Croydon back four used to being in control. His contribution to the penalty typified this, arcing a run out to the touchline to provide an option, and then using pace and purpose to burn into the box where he was up-ended. On any other week the ever-brilliant goalkeeping skills of Trovato probably would have won the day, as a succession of reflex saves coupled with faultless handling contributed greatly to Logica's impressive win.
