Logica finally claimed their first win of the year in some style, which they belatedly turned on in a goal-soaked second half. The spread of goals, assists, and vital goal-saving blocks is evidence of an excellent all-round team performance, but as the much-criticised strikers continued their onion-bag stuffing renaissance, it was a defender and a midfielder who most impressed the electorate this week. Chapman 3000 got his name on the score-sheet for the second week running, and his neat finish was probably sufficient to differentiate him from his fellow defenders, all of whom had fine games in difficult conditions. Indeed, Preston showed himself to be far from an ordinary boy with a quite outstanding goal-saving last-ditch tackle that capped a fine all-round display, and saw him reach number 3 in the Charts.
Sharing top spot though was Dav Gautam. Since returning from serious injury at the tail-end of last season, the midfield maestro has gone from strength to strength, turning in a string of quite brilliant displays this season whilst also establishing a sublimely creative engine-room partnership with Reevaldo. Gautam's visionary supply line has carved out chance after chance all season, and he would surely have claimed more than the six assists he currently boasts if the forwards had been as lethal as his killer passes. The delicately chipped pass perfectly into the stride of Wright, who clinically dispatched the all-important second goal, was a classic example of Gautam's art that showed just why so many on the Stade's terraces are calling him Logica's answer to Xabi Alonso.
