Logica raised themselves from the dead to record their first win (and indeed points) for exactly three months. Spectra may have only had ten men, but they are a very good side and the merit of this victory should not be under-estimated.
The victory was set up by two goals a-piece from Ross Melville and Nick Alexandrou, but it was keeper Rob Sapwell who edged a close-fought MoM poll with some point-worthy saves, most notably an amazing reaction save to a fierce volley that kept Logica ahead at the death. "One of the best saves I've ever seen," babbled one awe-struck voter, whilst others noted a "string of quality saves throughout the match".
Melville shared second spot in the polls, both for his fearsome finishes, and another all-round hard-working display in the middle of the park. The other runner-up was debutante Joe Tallett who greatly impressed with his skill, vision and pace, and whom we can only hope is up for a few more appearances. The other debutante and two-goal man Alexandrou polled nearly 10% of the votes cast, as did Jamie Heath and Nich Fazel.
