Another must-win game, and Logica showed the requisite character to win in entertaining fashion, moving off the bottom of the table and above Maxilla in the process. Despite an early lead, Logica found themselves 2-1 down midway through the first half, but some bold attacking play saw them score three times to bounce back into a 4-2 advantage, and a late West consolation made no difference. The three points give Logica an outside chance of staying up: if our outstanding two fixtures can be rearranged, and we can muster one more on-field win, we will almost certainly avoid the drop.
It was Ray Peakes who rifled home that early opener after a perceptive run to boost Logica's confidence, and the striker in his first competitive game for the club continued to pose problems for the visiting defence for the whole 90 minutes with his pace, skill and running off the ball. Likewise, Chris Greenwood was a constant threat with his strong running down the left, and he too was rewarded with his first goal for the club. But, it was a good all-round team performance, and this was reflected in the fact that no fewer than six other players polled MoM votes: Abbo, Fazel, Gautam, Lurker, Melville and Trovato.
