Another disappointing performance against a strong Battersea Park side resulted in a scoreline that flattered Logica and ended any hopes they might have had of Cup glory for another season.
At 3-0 down, and with hardly a chance created all morning, Logica saved some face when, with only fifteen minutes left, strategic supremo Clarke organised a gaggle of substitutions that had an instant impact.
Spence was fouled innocuously some twenty yards from goal, but Woolhouse unleashed one of his curly specials which defeated the Park keeper with the aid of a slight deflection. With a minute still to go, Logica further reduced the arrears when an accurate cross from the left by Abbott enabled Spence to head home a bullet.
Despite this late flutter, it has to be remarked that if Battersea had not been so profligate in front of goal then the result may have been far more embarrassing for Logica.
