THE GOAL THAT NEVER WAS
A photographed sequence showing Skippy scoring the disallowed goal that would, and should, have given us all three points against the Zeebras.
| 1. Abbott leaves his marker in a heap on the floor after an elaborate series of confounding dummies, and floats a cross to the far post. |
| 2. The cross is slightly too deep however, and it is all that Banoub can do, whilst back-pedalling, to head the ball straight up in the air. |
| 3. Brown commits the crime of calling "my ball" before cutting back a low cross that Richmond has anticipated. Note the referee's excellent vantage point. |
| 4. With a majestic arc of his left shin, Richmond hoiks the ball home and wheels away in delight. Just minutes after this photo was taken, the referee disallowed the goal. |
