It was a match that must surely have targeted as a win in his as yet unpublished Roadmap to Promotion. At the start of play, Bragança, were level on points with Logica but in the unlikely situation of having a worse goal difference. If Logica are to pose a serious threat to the leading pack, then this was exactly the kind of game that they needed to win, and preferably in convincing fashion.

But in a familiar trend, the clamour of 20+ squad members for a game in the sunshine at the Stade had somewhat dwindled to a skeletal dozen for this bread and butter league game in the less-than-salubrious surroundings of a wintry Riverside Lands. To be fair, the team had suffered an unusual glut of injuries in last week's battle against Supercala: none of , , , or had recovered from serious knocks, whilst was still on holiday.

Worse news followed with the late withdrawal of both (had to work) and (babysitting duty), whilst was this week's Cinderella who had to leave before the clock struck twelve. The only silver lining was the recovery from injury of both and , who started the game as a strong central midfield pairing.

But in a frustrating morning, Logica never really got into second gear. In the first half, Logica could only force the home keeper into one difficult save, and that another rasping free kick from the outside of 's left boot. Instead, a neat and pacey Bragança attack posed all the questions, and by the interval had carefully constructed a 2-0 lead that never seriously looked in jeopardy thereafter.

Both goals came down the right flank and exposed some lax marking by Logica. First a half cleared corner was speared over left-back allowing the corner taker to hit the bye-line. He pulled the ball back to an unmarked colleague who fired a clinical finish low past 's right hand from 15 yards [0-1]. Ten minutes later, another flowing move saw the ball played inside the exposed , and a pin-point low cross was volleyed home tidily at the near post [0-2].

In the second half Logica posed slightly more of a threat, and at least created a few half-chances. did well to head an cross just wide, and unleashed a dipping volley from distance which was not too far away. probably had the best chance, when he glanced a corner over the bar at the near post, but the threat on the home goal remained sporadic at best.

At the other end, the Logica defence looked more dominant in the second half, with and getting in some good tackles when it counted. And pulled off a couple of fine saves to keep Logica in with a theoretical chance, a dexterous one-on-one block with his feet, and a scampering tip round the post of a nasty shot that bounced awkwardly in front of him. This followed two fine saves in the first half - a full-stretch palm-away just under his cross-bar and another brave block at the feet of a forward clear on goal. But could do nothing on 75 minutes, when a visionary pass dissected the Logica back-line and a Bragança striker clipped a deft shot over the advancing Logica keeper to put the result beyond doubt [0-3].

The last kick of the game saw the ball bundled through to substitute who found himself with just the keeper to beat. But the shot was delayed a fraction too long, and a defender just managed to slide in and block the effort. This, perhaps, demonstrated the game in microcosm, as Logica had been just a fraction slower than Bragança throughout, and there could be few complaints about the result. The team do have the distraction of the Cup next week against League leaders Supercala, but thereafter they face a stern run up to Christmas with three matches against sides in the leading pack (Spectraprint, Croydon Red Star again, and Sporting Brixton), and there will need to be a dramatic return to form if 's Roadmap to Promotion is to see the light of day.
