Logica kicked off their third game of the season still looking for their first win. With notable absences at the back, and started the game as the third centre back pairing in as many games.

Logica started the game the better side and with strict instructions from the gaffer not to concede early doors, Logica were winning every ball in the first ten minutes. Not many chances were created by either side within the first 20 minutes, but just after the halfway point in the first period, 's header clear avoided the Dogs' last defender, and was on hand to hold off his last man and dink the ball over the advancing keeper with his left foot [1-0].

Logica were now in control, and nearly added a second and could even have had a third. Superb work by on the left fed , who cut in from the left and found he only had the keeper to beat. His shot however just flashed past the top corner at the far post.

Soon after, found room on the left to feed . turned his man and fired a left footed shot that was expertly placed. The Dogs keeper was equal to it though, and turned it around the post.

Battersea had one weapon that would go on to be Logica's undoing - the long throw. And this was how they drew the game level before the break. The long throw was only half cleared between and and a Dogs midfielder sent a looping header back over the Logica keeper which hit the bar and fell to their striker, who couldn't miss [1-1].

At the start of the second half it was the Dogs who were the better side, and it wasn't long before they were in an overall undeserved lead. The Logica defence misjudged the offside trap, and despite the efforts from the advancing , the ball was chipped over him into the net [1-2]. The visitors were two behind shortly after, as a long ball from the Dogs keeper found their striker clean through. Even though the onrushing got a hand to the Dog's lob, he couldn't prevent it from going in [1-3].

Logica did not give up though and were back in the game soon after. Good work on the right from (who had replaced shortly before) found in space. This week's left winger fired in a cross-come-shot, which enabled to divert the ball into the net [2-3].

The fightback was stopped in it tracks shortly afterwards unfortunately. Another half clearance, this time from a corner, and it was a Dogs forward out jumping Logica's defence to head home [2-4]. A determined away side so nearly responded again immediately: 's chipped ball through finding , but his fierce volley was saved by the keeper. In the end it was Battersea who scored another, adding a fifth when really Logica should have cleared once more [2-5].

And so despite their endeavour, Logica left the field at full-time with an undeserved defeat and a harsh scoreline. The effort was there from the start, and one positive to take from the game was the amount of chances created. If the Dogs' keeper had had an off day, the result may have been different. The potential is definitely there going forward though.
