This was a desperately disappointing morning as much for the performance as the result against the bottom team WPR, who had lost all seven of their league matches before this one. With Fazel failing a late fitness test, Jamie Heath again performed admirably as a stand-in centre half, his battling and intelligent brand of defensive play rightly earning him this week's MoM Award. Left back Chris Greenwood was according to one voter "solid, committed and first to most balls," whilst keeper Rob Sapwell once again kept the scoreline respectable with a string of variously brilliant and brave saves. Ross Melville returned to help out his ailing former club, and as ever gave it his all in the middle of the park. For the rest, though, the showing was disappointing and the team rarely troubled what looked like a potentially vulnerable Rangers rearguard. All in all, things will have to improve significantly, or a second consecutive relegation will surely ensue.
