After two promising displays had realised just a solitary point, Logica finally got their just deserts after hitting Broadway with a superb show. And even more satisfying for will be the fact that this victory was staged with yet another batch of promising new stars in his cast.

, in particular, turned in an authorative and skilful display on his debut at centre half, whilst and both made telling contributions as second half substitutes. And if that was not enough, , a seasoned Leatherhead international with some four World Cups under his belt, was finally tempted into the Sunday morning fray. It was no surprise that the talented Scotsman could cut it at this level: his quick feet and calm head were at the heart of much of Logica's best attacking moves, and he capped an impressive domestic debut with the winning goal direct from a thirty yard free kick.

After a slow start in each of their first two matches, the game plan was to make a vigorous impression early doors. For the first fifteen minutes, Logica set about their task with relish, closing down Broadway with some disciplined tracking whilst posing a consistent threat of their own.

's visionary tactical acumen seems to know no bounds at the moment, and his pairing of and in the middle of the park was inspired. The Italian was winning plenty of ball, and had even found time to go close with a blistering volley before he set up the opening goal. A slide-rule pass inside the right-back sent away, but as the striker galloped down the left, there was nobody in the box to cross to. No matter, for without hesitation produced a sublime curling shot from an acute angle that completely beat the Broadway keeper and fizzed into the net off the far post [1-0]. A stunning goal.

Having taken the lead, Logica ill-advisedly took their collective feet off the pedal, and the home side started to pile on the pressure. Broadway were desperately unlucky when a great move saw the final shot canon off not one but both posts. And produced a remarkable last ditch block to deflect a seemingly certain goal wide whilst Broadway also contrived to put a couple of far post headers wide of the target. But an equaliser finally materialised when a Broadway forward found himself with time to fire past the helpless in goal [1-1].

As half-time approached Logica reasserted their dominance. and were combining to good effect, whilst and (playing despite feeling a tad 'under the weather') were linking neatly down the left. But it was who came closest to re-establishing the lead with a stunning 35-yard free kick fired in with the outside of the left boot that had the Broadway keeper at full stretch to tip away.

Logica maintained their ascendancy after the break and carved out an excellent second goal within minutes of the restart. The ball was fed to , once again lurking with menace down the left. Cutting inside, he picked out a great run from his strike partner and fired in a pin-point cross. There was still plenty to do, but swooped like a vulture to send a firm diving header precisely inside the post from ten yards [2-1].

Once more the pendulum swung as Broadway responded with a concerted series of raids. Logica's defence was variously strong, brave and, on occasion, somewhat chaotic, as they found themselves under the cosh. The courageous diving block of a searing drive by two defenders typified Logica's resolve. and stood firm, the newcomer winning everything in the air as well as timing his tackles to perfection. But just as the visitors seemed to have weathered the storm, Broadway launched a quick counter-attack and the ball was lashed home for a second equaliser [2-2].

With twenty-five minutes remaining, the large bank of Logica supporters in the Stade d'Ilea feared a nerve wracking last quarter. Instead, 's men stepped up a gear and went in search of another goal. looped an acrobatic header inches too high from distance before the visitors won another free-kick in the Broadway half. It seemed too far out for a direct attempt on goal, but had other ideas. Ironically the strike was not as clean as his first half effort, but what it lacked in blistering pace it more than made up for with accuracy as the outside of the Scotsman's left peg unerringly picked out the smallest of gaps at the far post [3-2].

Predictably Broadway now threw everything into a desperate attempt at another equaliser, but as the home side became more frantic, Logica's rearguard grew in assurance. There were plenty of corners and balls pumped high into the danger-zone, but it was telling that had few saves of note to make. Indeed the biggest scare came as regally intervened in some penalty-box pinball to calmly side-foot a volley inches wide of his own post.

The substitutes and were thrown into the cauldron and played with commitment and tenacity to help keep Broadway at bay. They also maintained Logica's counter-attacking threat, and was unlucky to see a deftly weighted volley fly a foot wide with the keeper well beaten.

continued to impress, but it was another superbly timed tackle that ended his debut three minutes earlier than scheduled. Having got to the ball first to clear, the Broadway player was unable to stop his own play for the ball and accidentally caught the Logica defender with a painful kick on the inside of the knee. had to be carried from the field, but the ten remaining men of Logica held firm without further alarm to claim a big psychological boost via this first win of the season against very good opponents.
