It was Logica's best display of the season as they emphatically beat second placed Spectraprint, scoring two goals in each half and keeping a rare clean sheet into the bargain. The win was characterised by an outstanding all-round team performance, but never the less, one player still stood out. From start to finish, Suranga Fernando never stopped running, providing a solid defensive left-side blanket in league with full back Lurker, but most importantly still finding the time and energy to get forward and support the attack at every opportunity.

Thus it was that Fernando twice broke from midfield in the first half to spring Print's unconvincing offside trap and apply the most precise of finishes to give Logica a deserved lead. When, after the interval, the home side mounted some retaliation, it was the grit and determination of the Logica midfielder that snaffled a decisive third goal for a superb hat-trick, and he even found time to have another effort frantically cleared off the line.

In between times, his aerial abilities and calm passing greatly added to Logica's increasing domination, and the only mystery is how anyone else got any MoM votes this week. That is not to say that Chapman and Gautam's excellent performances did not merit reward, but just that we would even have forgiven Fernando for voting for himself this week.
