A match in which a bare Logica XI started brightly, but faded as limbs tired, eventually found the team hanging on for the point that ensures Second Division football next season. Pete Chapman was once again outstanding at the back, but was more than ably abetted by Suranga Fernando, an increasingly authoritative defensive shoe-in. From start to finish both players were continually in the right place at the right time to execute no-nonsense interceptions and vital clearances. Practically everything in the air was won, and there were also a number of beautifully timed sliding tackles by both centre halves that would have had looked great on camera if only the scheduled TV crew had turned up. The clearest measure of Chapman 3000 and Scaramanga's effectiveness is that, despite the Dragons increasing dominance of possession as the match wore on, Mad Dog Sapwell was rarely called into serious action.
