Another game of one half, this time the second. But the much improved second 45 did not yield a goal, leaving Logica pointless. Whilst many of the Logica stars were equally poor before the interval, and equally inspired afterwards, it was James Buck who got the nod, not only for his dynamic second half performance, but also for his terrier like inspiration when the chips were down early doors. He will certainly be missed when rides off into the Portuguese sunset.

Elsewhere Ian Reeves can take some encouragement from impressing the voters as he weaves his way elaborately back towards match fitness. Having broken his arm at the turn of the year, and also missed the World Cup, he had hardly kicked a ball in 2007. But some nifty footwork and a smattering of mazy dribbles, particularly in the second half, suggest that he will shortly be back to his match-winning best. Meanwhile, there was also a nod in the direction of Abbott, Fernando and new defender Andy Bessant for their individual performances.
