On reflection, Logica could easily have nicked this game against league leaders West London Select given the number of great chances they created and squandered. On the other hand, Logica were only kept within touching distance by a string of great blocks from Mad Dog Sapwell. We lost count of the number of one-on-ones he won against the odds, and this vital contribution clearly far out-weighed in the collective mind of the electorate any criticism that might (unjustly in our view) be levelled for Select's opening goal.

Logica's other most impressive unit, central midfield, also earned well deserved recognition, with both Buck and Fernando harrying the Logica keeper all the way to this week's MoM Award. It is perhaps the most worrying aspect of the club's current plight that this pair, regularly the best two outfield performers according to MoM voters, will both be riding off into the transfer sunset before Christmas. Surely the board will have to give Mad Dog and Sevvie access to the club's vast cash reserves generated by the new financial regime so they can try and secure some quality replacements through the transfer market?!
