After the goal haemorrhaging Logica had suffered thus far this season, the Supremi moved quickly to apply a sturdy elastoplast to their defensive regions. With the tenacious Chetty employed just in front of the back four, a far more resilient Logica were only undone by a momentary lapse of concentration late in the second half. And it was the commanding centre-half pairing of Suranga Fernando and Nich Fazel that rightly took this week's MoM plaudits for an outstanding display as Logica came so close to putting a dent in Croydon's 100% record, with the former just pipping the latter by the most slender of margins.
But there were some strange goings-on elsewhere in the world of democratic MoMmery, with one joint vote for the Supremi ("for changing tactics") having to be ruled ineligible as it fell foul of Law 6 Paragraph 2(b) (which covers Brown-Nosing and other frowned-upon misuses of the voting system). However, despite scouring the rule book a number of times, we could find no law against voting for an ageing pastiche of a touchline-hugging outside left, and so it is that "Sir Stanley" Abbott ambles across the MoM finishing line in third place this week.
