Logica finally put their feet where their mouths had been, and produced a fine display that put their early-season miseries behind them. The Supreme switch to 4-5-1 was tweaked enough to add attacking threat to defensive solidity, and Maxilla were the unfortunates on the receiving end. Logica even went behind before responding with a remarkable last hour of counter-attacking football that saw them score six times - two more goals than they had mustered in their first seven league games.

It is a well worn cliche, but this was definitely an exemplary team display, with everyone playing their part from back to front. It is as hard to pick a Man of the Match when the whole team plays well, as it is when the whole team plays woefully, but luckily Abbo helped the voters out of this quandary by stealing the headlines that he himself writes. Not only was it his 300th start in a Logica shirt, not only did he erroneously celebrate this milestone long into the night before the game, but the old left winger also went out and bagged himself a hat-trick, the last two scored whilst playing virtually on one leg after a first half knee injury had left him hobbling. Truly the stuff of legend! [Or lazy journalistic hyperbola - Ed.]

Back in the real world there were also well-deserved acknowledgements to both Suranga Fernando and Dav Gautam, the former for another authoritative defensive display, and the latter for supplying yet again some fine creative vision from the middle of the park that was rewarded with two finely taken goals.
