Logica appeared refreshed and reinvigorated after their five week winter break, and played some neat football for much of this match. But two lapses in concentration allowed title-chasing Red Star to exhibit their killer instinct, as an unmarked Star headed home from a corner in the first half, and then late on the visitors clinched the three points as Logica might have found a better juncture to make their substitution than when defending a throw deep in their own half.
The match was to be Suranga Fernando's last in a Logica shirt, and he cruelly emphasised what the team would be missing following his transfer to York city with a Man of the Match showing in front of the back four. His calm and assured dominance in the holding role was central to Logica's confident play, with only the collective final pass failing to match what had gone before. Another solid showing at left-back was recognised by a third of the voters, as Damo once again confirmed his most effective position. Elsewhere Chris Dann and Melville Sr both picked up votes after strong individual showings.
