The return fixture with Sarkpoint the following week (read about last Sunday's startling victory) was played on the infamous Hackney Marshes, and soon degenerated into farce. Logica arrived to find no opposition, even at the late hour of eleven. Eventually a few players began to arrive, but some time later their total only numbered eight plus a one-legged manager. After much discussion it was agreed to play the game as an official league fixture, but by this time there was only time to play about three milliseconds each way.

In the absence of a referee, the one-legged manager kindly agreed to arbitrate, but could do little else but stand in the centre circle. Despite this apparent handicap, the referee did extremely well in the fifteenth minute to spot an infringement in the Logica penalty area, and awarded the home-side a penalty kick. This was a stern test for (another!) debut keeper, , and he did well to get close to the firmly hit spot kick.

Prior to this the Jades had begun to get impatient with their failure to score against eight men. The emphasis had been placed on sharp passing to take advantage of the extra personnel, but when an equaliser came, it did so through some individual brilliance from the sweeper , possibly the most skillful player in a team full of skillful players. A solo run from the half-way line accounted for three defenders, before the Sussex-man rounded the goalkeeper and slotted home.

Thereafter things went as expected. A header from gave Logica a half-time lead and the second half was one-way traffic. The generous Logica team kindly gave Sarkpoint one of their players to balance up the numbers - was employed by the orange team as a sweeper playing some ten yards behind the rest of the Sarkpoint defence. Unfortunately, the referee was unaware of this switch, and kept blowing up for offside.

Despite this four second half goals followed, and a whole host of other chances were wasted for one reason or another. went on to complete his hat-trick with good finishing, and other goals came from and Man Of The Match . returned to the Jade ranks just in time to miss a penalty, and had a goal disallowed due to the luckless .
