Oscar Marley Reeves

Whilst many of you were were out in the garden practising your defence-splitting passes and penalty kicks ahead of this summer's World Cup in Portugal, legendary Logica hole merchant Reevaldo was at home contemplating a delivery of even greater import. And on behalf of all at the club, we can somewhat belatedly pass on many sincere and hearty congratulations to Ian and Maria on the birth of a son, Oscar Marley Reeves (Reevaldinho), late on Friday 18th May.

Young Oscar weighed in at a Lagesque 9lbs 1oz, and the proud father reported the following week: "We’re working on close control this week, moving on to backflicks and stepovers by the weekend". Touching as this image is, it seems a little much to hope that the youngster would be able to help his old man out so soon.

The arrival of Reevaldinho understandably led his father to make himself unavailable for World Cup duty, although the England ace was able to follow the action by text message as the Lags mustered an impressive (and in no way connected) third place finish. There was plenty of good wishes for the popular wizard of the dribble back home as well. One long-time Logica fan who has spent many a Sunday morning cheering on the Logica team down at the Stade noted: "I've often heard it said on the terraces that Reeves deserves an Oscar, and finally he's got one!"
