It was the usual season of ups and down. After a very promising start that saw Logica topping the table in October, the team faded so dramatically that a third consecutive relegation was on the cards by April. But the players rallied, and in particular showed great spirit to win their final match 3-0 against league runner-up South West Six, and eventually finish in eighth place and avoid the drop.

This was a just reward for departing Supremo . All the hard work he had put into running the club for three years had left Logica FC in very good shape for the future, despite their relatively lowly league position. A good squad of players, a new home ground and an excellent reputation within the Sportsmans League organisation can only bode well for new Supremo .

Spence curls in a free-kick away to Lusitanos It was the end of an era in more ways than one, as Logica stalwart threatened to retire from Sunday morning football at the end of this season. Despite playing for the club for nigh on sixteen seasons, continued to turn in performances of exceptionally high quality with the added bonus of plenty of goals. The new will certainly miss a player who made himself available almost every week. Without doubt must be far and away the highest goalscorer in Logica FC history, even if he did start bulging the onion bag many years before records began. A brilliant player who it will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to replace.

It was an interesting season in other aspects as well. Perhaps Logica's best performance of the season was in beating Queen Vic FC 4-3 in the first round of the Cup. Queen Vic went onto win the First Division title without losing a single match, and this puts a rare Logica Cup victory into perspective. A famous individual performance came from , who scored all six of Logica's goals in their 6-3 victory over Wandsworth Town in September. Thus equalled the record set by legendary goalscorers and for an individual scoring feat in a single match. And, of course, the club as a whole hit the net in spectacular fashion when "If Selected..." finally went live on the Internet on 15th October.

This season saw the official end of the Millennium. To mark the occasion, the club organised a Millennial Vote and held a formal Awards Dinner at a swanky West End eaterie. was voted Supremo of the Millennium, and was the runaway winner in the Player of the Millennium vote. The club appeared to have finally staggered into the Nineties, as the Dinner featured a superb MultiMedia Presentation by and showing the evolution of the club down the ages. The Presentation was made available through the "If Selected.." web-site, which had also supplied the initial 'ePolling Booth'. A truly hi-tech club.

Abbott opens the scoring at home to Lusitanos The season started in familiarly ominous fashion when Logica failed to raise a team for their very first match, and the points were duly awarded to our opponents AFC Zeebras. The team bounced back in some style as they went unbeaten in their first five matches actually played, to top the table in mid-October. As well as beating Wandsworth and Ironprint, creditable draws were achieved against St Augustines and Lusitanos, the only disappointment being the failure to beat a poor St Anselms side. notched seven goals in the first two matches, but then failed to score for the rest of the season! The Wandsworth match also saw another record broken, as missed his first ever penalty for the club in thirteen seasons, although he did bounce back to score both the other penalties awarded to Logica in this season.

Tim Wood shows his composure against Queen Vic. The infamous Sportobello match proved to be a decisive turning point in the campaign. Despite the change in the clocks predictably accounting for two squad members, Logica somehow contrived to lose a match in which they should, at a conservative effort, have been into double figures in terms of goals before half time. The team bounced back well to achieve the famous Queen Vic Cup victory, but the Sportobello hangover found them failing to win any of their next six matches. Only one point was taken during this spell (a 4-4 draw against Zeebras), and Logica slipped down the table at an alarming speed. A gallant Cup defeat against eventual divisional Champions Chelsea Utd, finally going down 3-2 after taking a brave 2-0 lead, failed to arrest the slide.

Malc delivers a lesson in the defensive arts against Ironprint. Some of the new faces were making their mark. scored an excellent goal in the Queen Vic match, although he somehow contrived to shoot over the bar from two inches in the same match - an achievement that won him the prestigious Miss of the Millennium award. was also turning in some dazzling performances, and notched his first goal for the club in the 3-1 league defeat to Chelsea in December. had started playing for the team even before he joined Logica the company, and his enthusiasm was rewarded with five goals during the season.

It took a Lag to make the difference. answered the call for the match against Ironprint in February. It was no coincidence that Logica chalked up their biggest win of the season, nor that we kept only one of three clean sheets. was majestic in the 5-0 victory, and gave a lesson that any aspiring centre half would do well to study.

After returned to his Sunday morning bed, Logica reverted to their disappointing form despite the introduction into the team of the impressive . Four straight defeats, including a 3-1 defeat to fellow relegation strugglers St Anselms (and that after Logica took the lead) left us desperately needing to win what turned out to be our last match of the season against South West Six. Finally, when it counted, the players turned in a fine performance. Goals from , , and together with a memorable display of goalkeeping from , reaped a famous 3-0 victory that ensured Logica's safety.
